Oh, library. Be still, my beating heart.

I kind of went crazy at the library today, just browsing the shelves.I've already read Dave Ramsey's, "The Total Money Makeover," a life-changing must-read. If you haven't already read it, you should. Go get it. Now. I'll wait.

** Time Elapse **

Okay, you got it? Good. Now, I haven't yet read the two Ramsey books above...
  • "Financial Peace"
  • "The Money Answer Book"
If they're half as good as "Makeover", they'll be well worth my time.

I already own a copy of Mary Hunt's "Debt-Proof Living," though it's been several years since I read it (I remember it being excellent)... But I picked up three more of her books:
  • "Everyday Cheapskate's Greatest Tips: 500 Simple Strategies for Smart Living"
  • "Live Your Life for Half the Price"
  • "Debt-Proof Your Marriage
Two others books also caught my eye:
  • Paul W. Lermitte's "Making Allowances: A Dollars-and-Sense Guide to Teaching Kids about Money"
  • Steve and Annette Economides' "America's Cheapest Family"
Time will tell how many of these I get through! I get a little overzealous whilst shopping at the library, you might say. Has anyone read any of the titles above?

I also picked up a few choice books for my kids...Again, several Dave Ramsey:
  • "Careless at the Carnival: Junior Discovers Spending"
  • "My Fantastic Fieldtrip: Junior Discovers Saving"
  • "The Super Red Racer: Junior Discovers Work"
  • "Battle of the Chores: Junior Discovers Debt"
And a couple of Robbie Reader Money Matters Series by Tamra Orr:
  • A Kid's Guide to Money: Savings Tips for Kids
  • A Kid's Guide to Money: Budgeting Tips for Kids
In light of the Allowance Budget we recently implemented for our 13yo, I'm planning on forcing encouraging him to read these, and others like them as I find them. We'll see how that goes. *ahem*

If you're all lucky, I may come back after reading these and let you all know what I thought. It might be a little motivating if you all all let me know you'd actually be interested in hearing about them. Just saying.
