The Day After Halloween: Cost Breakdown

Traipsing through a desolate pumpkin patch because we waited until too late in the season to go the beautiful Ohio countryside with friends...

...free!

Succumbing to apple fritters at the store where we finally bought our pumpkins...

...$7.50

Begging off dinner out with said friends...

... no charge. (We said we were trying to save money, but to be honest, if the kids hadn't been tired we probably would have gone.)

Three pumpkins...
...$15

Made into jack-o-lanterns...
...free!

Four bags of candy for the trick-or-treaters...

...$7.75 (with coupons)

This ended up being about three bags too many... Darn. Leftover candy.

Two costumes...
...$15.00 (from second-hand stores)

Kids' candy stash...

...paid for through investments above free!

I'm so thankful for your blog. We get to hear about and actually see so much more than otherwise.
We had leftover candy also. There weren't nearly as many out this year it seemed.
